“Transmen” or “transgender men”? What’s the difference?
There are a number of words used to describe a person who was identified female at birth and identifies his gender as male. We typically use “transmen” or the singular “transman” and FTM. We may also use other terms as synonyms, including “transgender man” and female-bodied man. See the glossary listed on Resources page.
Does insurance cover the cost of treatment?
Most insurance providers do not cover the cost for transgender treatment. Most expenses are out of pocket, therefore making treatment unattainable for the majority of transgender people.
What is the average cost of treatment?
The cost for treatment can vary depending on type of treatment and location of services. Unfortunately there are only a handful of professional medical and mental health providers with the expertise to provide care for the transgender client.
